Self-compassion means that we treat ourselves with kindness, as we would a good friend who we care about. Instead of constantly judging and judging ourselves, self-compassion means developing kindness towards ourselves as imperfect human beings and learning to deal with life’s inevitable difficulties more easily. It motivates us to make the necessary changes in our lives, not because we are worthless or inadequate, but because we care about ourselves and want to alleviate our difficulties.
