Meditation for August: Celebrating Abundance
August 1, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC-4
Donation-based
This class celebrates the midpoint between the summer solstice and the fall equinox. It is the time of year, in agricultural/ancestral terms, when we begin to reap what we’ve sown, to gather the first harvests of grains. Metaphorically, this is a good time to reflect on all the progress we’ve made, to turn our attention to where there is abundance in our lives, and acknowledge the fruits of our labors this year. We may still have a lot of work to do, but we can pause for a moment and evaluate our growth so far. We can also plan for what we want for the future. Does your current path still feel right? Are your accomplishments in line with our values and broader vision? If so, great, keep going. If not, it’s never too late to course correct.
This class includes a short talk about the energies of this time, a guided meditation, and time to journal or share. If you wish, bring something that represents nourishment or abundance for you—a flower, fruit or vegetable you recently picked (or got at your farmer’s market); a crystal, candle or other object in harvest colors, ie, gold, yellow, orange or green; or a piece of bread or some grains—whatever resonates with you as a symbol of growth, sustenance and plenty.
