Meditation for All Hallows Eve: Letting Go, Welcoming the Dark

October 29, 2024 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm UTC-4

Donation-based

I’m offering meditations in alignment with the solstices, equinoxes and their midpoints—an annual cycle that offers a wonderful way to relate to nature, no matter where you live or what spiritual traditions you practice!

The next gathering celebrates the midpoint between the fall equinox and the winter solstice, a time many of us know as Halloween (it goes by other names, too). This is a potent time of year, imbued with rich cultural and historical traditions—a time that honors the full cycle of beginnings and endings, life and death, darkness and light.

As we enter into the dark part of the year, this midpoint invites us to turn our attention inward, celebrate the power of rest, regeneration and renewal, and practice letting go. Are there aspects of your life that are changing or ending? Do you have a pattern of thinking, a behavior, a relationship, an attitude, or anything else that needs to be released? In letting go of what no longer serves us, we can make space for new life to emerge.

This gathering includes a short talk and reflection on the natural and cultural significance of this time, a guided meditation, and time to reflect or journal. If you wish, feel free to bring a candle; a picture of a loved one; a piece of carnelian, tigers eye or smoky quartz (or other crystal you love); or some leaves, acorns or pinecones—anything that symbolizes change or transformation to you.

Please register if you’d like to attend. I look forward to seeing you!

I offer these classes freely and also gratefully accept support for my teaching via Venmo (@Laura-Smith-1050) or PayPal (@laurasmith1587). Thank you ❤
